Life is FAST

Greetings, Friends!

I'm happy to write down this newsletter today,

I never thought i will write on this topic but i thought this is my thursday thoughfulness newsletter so let me share the experince of FASTING.

This newsletter diving into the depths of Hindu festivals. Each month brings forth events where families, friends, or individuals find themselves drawn to worship deities in various ways. This month, one of the sacred occasions we celebrate is Chaitra Navratri.

A Glance at Chaitra Navratri

Chaitra Navratri, comes in the month of Chaitra, marks the onset of the Hindu lunar calendar. This nine-day festival venerates Goddess Durga and her forms. **"Navratri,"**translated as **"nine nights"**from Sanskrit, encapsulates days filled with fasting, prayers, and rituals, all aimed at seeking the blessings of the divine.

Each day of Chaitra Navratri aligns with a different manifestation of Goddess Durga, collectively known as Navadurga. From Shailaputri to Siddhidatri, these forms symbolize various aspects of feminine energy and power.

Chaitra Navratri stands as a time for introspection, devotion, and jubilation, marking the triumph of righteousness and virtue.

What's the Life is FAST?

FAST, in our context here is FASTINGin this newsletter—a practice embraced by many annually. Fasting aligns us with the rhythms of nature, especially as Navratri heralds the arrival of a new season. Scientifically, our bodies and minds adapt to the changing seasons, syncing with our internal states.

This Chaitra Navratri, my fasting experience took an intriguing turn. Gratitude fills my heart by receiving energy from divinity. Nine days of quitting from solid food, consume solely on fruits, milk, and juices, infused my life with renewed understanding and ability.

The journey into fasting came from a simple thought: Let's see how many days i can fast without actual food?

Typically, our daily calorie intake hovers around 2000 calories, which can decrease during fasting to around 1000 calories with fruits and juices alone. As the nine days drew to a close, my body felt lighter, and decreased around 2.5 kilograms in weight.

I find myself drawn to occasions like Navratri, Mahashivratri, or the auspicious month of Shravan for fasting. These periods serve as anchors for our goals, easing the journey towards self-motivation.

There are many different religions which i know who does more intense practice in fasting. Some religion Muslim and Jainism are more tough.

But i thing every individual should bring some day in life to get awareness and may be connecting with universe in some way.

A word of caution—embark on fasting with caution and practice. Start gradually, perhaps with one meal a day, then progress to longer durations.
